I've had a good look at the manual and the forum but no luck!

Working on the clutch cable under the car I noticed oil dripping from what I'm guessing is the gearbox sump plug. Reading the workshop manual and around here, I'm guessing checking the level and filling it up is an easy job, as it's not explained anywhere! Or I just can't find it :(

Is there a simple guide, I'm just concerned that with all the dripping, it's running low.
Thank you learned ones!:worship:

be careful when removing the square sump plug....they can be tight and you don't want to wreck it..
I believe a 1/2" female socket driver fits

I used this thread as a guide earlier this year: https://www.fiatforum.com/500-classic/322417-transmission-drain-bold.html . There are two pictures on the first page showing the drain and fill holes. The filler hole is also the max fluid level, so you basically just fill it up until the oil starts running back out of the fill hole.

Also make sure you loosen up the filler bolt before draining. Definitely don't want to drain the gearbox and then find out you can't undo the filler bolt. Soaking the filler bolt with penetrating oil the night before might be a good idea.

I've sometimes used a normal 15mm BiHex (12 point) socket.
It does fit!

Just remember to have the car level when checking/topping up the oil.
