General Gearbox Failure in new Panda Eleganza

It is now 3 weeks since I last saw my Panda! It showed gearbox failure whilst I was at the vets with my dog and 2 year old son. It left puddles of fluid on the ground and the AA took me and the gang home before taking car back to dealer.

I am still waiting to have it back. Apparently it was the selespeed unit that failed and they do not have a delivery date for the "part". I feel totally fed up with Fiat and the Dealer who seem quite uncaring and not at all bothered. This is the first time I have bought a new car and admit that I really like my Panda, just wish it would go!!

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Panda is very reliable & such failures rare(honestly!)but the dealer will be at the mercy of 'the delivery date of part(s)' & may even want to investigate the car fully.
Have they offered you a courtesy car?

Hi,

Thanks for the reassurance! I am very happy with the car otherwise so hope they can sort it out for me. I have a 1007 as courtesy car so at least we can get out and about.
