Tipo (Classic) Gear stick rubber gaiter

Hi, does anyone know how to remove a tipo 1993 solid rubber, one piece gear stick gaiter. I can easily undo the bottom part but it's the solid knob part at the top. thanks

Changed mine in @1994

Twist and pull.. it'll come off

Tried that, it will not budge, I'll just have to keep working on it.
