General Gear Stick (Knob and Gater removal)

2018 Talento - just bought a new gater and the plastic silver clip (at the base) part that clips in, but cannot for the life of me get the knob off .

I have tried lifting out the gear map cap but there is no visible screws to undo, also tried to pull it but obviously don't want to damage anything.

Any ideas or directions to video etc. Thanks ROFLMAO: too many jokes to be had in this thread...I know).
