Technical gear problems

hiya, got my new cinq sporting just over a week ago, was driving round a round-about sat night when i went to change up to 4th there was no gear there and now it feels like its gettin the right place but staying in neutral. a freind told me clutch cables could be the problem, anyone else have any idea''s and how to solve it? if you have a picture guide to do it, it would help alot because in all honesty i havent the foggyest when it comes to cars!

none of the gears work, just seems to feel like in neutral all the time, yes mot was done in november.

just been told that it could either be needing a new clutch or the driveshaft has gone so does anyone know cheep decent garages in essex?

yes the gears are engaging, and then not driving, i can select any gear, take my foot off the clutch and it feels like its just in neutral.

OK, so can you engage a gear with the engine running and not using the clutch?

Be better to select a gear then start the engine?

yep, i can put it into any gear without using clutch while the engine is on.

Sounds like you've ripped the middle out the clutch.

Hi

You need a mate who is a mechanic and a weekend.

And David's (RallyCinqs) guide to replacing a clutch.

When you get the box off you may want to replace the release forks and clutch cable, this saves time doing these later.

i would but my stepdad knows just about as much as me about cars, and thats really not alot haha, i think my stepdads freind who is a mechanic will b doing the job so all is looking better
