You may have read my other post ref the trouble ive been having with my gear box.

Well heres the history:-

Noticed a rattling noise coming from the engine while at idle. This would disappear if i pushed in the clutch.

Took it to the garage who stripped the clutch and reported that it was a slightly buckled fly wheel which had quite alot of play in it.

Off I go happy my little baby is fixed only to have the same issue re-appear 1 week later.

So off to the dealers again, stripped the clutch again and replaced the entire clutch and associated bearings. When they rebuilt the clutch the issue was still there.

Currently waiting for the car to go back next wednesday to have the Fiat "specialist" take a gander to fix, what is becoming a pain in the ass!

What kind of rattle is it? and how loud is it?

I have an issue as stated previously with my gearbox being "crunchy" when changing gear. I'll be getting it booked in for the week after next when I have time off to take it to the dealership.

Could be crankshaft endfloat excessive...?

What engine is it?

The 1.4 5/6 speed C514 box as used in the old Mk2 Punto's was known for a little gear 'chatter' at idle. Nothing to worry too much about if that's the case.
