Garmin Nuvi - what to get

[Most Easterly Pandas]

I'm after a replacement satnav for my much dated i3 unit.

Looking online, and am getting very confused!

I'm after one that does the traffic avoidance thing. Is this worth going for? Anyone got any experiences?

Hey man.

I work at Halfords and I know quite a lot about sat navs.

It all depends on what your after (features, functions etc.), how much your willing to spend on it and where you want to use it (i.e. UK, ROI, Europe etc.)

The best thing to do is shop around for prices as some places sell them a lot cheaper than other places etc.


If you do decide to buy one from Halfords you can get a half price case for around £10+ (depending on which one you go for etc.).

I went for the Nuvi 205WT iirc (wide screen, traffic and bluetooth hands free, and europe mapping) in the end, was £140 think from my local Halfords. Very pleased with the unit
