There's a vid on youtube somewhere of a 1242 mpi 126, not sure if it's a tub or not but it looks a bit of a weapon regardless, I'd love it more if I could still make it sound like a 2cyl so no-one knows :D

could always whip the leads off one or two of the plugs for some temporary 2 or 3 cylinder running i suppose ;)

hmm, i wonder if its possible to disable a coil pack remotley, that way you can have 2 cylinder running (well, sort of), and with a flick of a switch, up to 4 cylinders again :D

that'd do it :D

very nice :D don't think its turbo'd, but its certainly rather nice.... i'd settle for one like that :D , well, with a bonnet and rhd of course ;)

What I was considering looking at that is where have they put the radiator?

Personally I'd put a really subtle scoop on the bonnet and mount it to the underside of the bonnet. If we go the tub route could put the IC in there too, just use the original vents on the sides for providing air to the throttle body ... of course, this will all involve copious amounts of money :uhoh2:

A really small scoop would be a plan, and the radiator to bonnet too is good, it frees up the option of exactly where the intercooler could go.

i would say as low at the front as possible, that way if any extra vents were needed, it could be concealed around/behind the bumper so it keeps the standard look as much as possible.

the problem is more how to go about plumbing it up through the car to an engine far back without major interior changes :(

at least in a 126, theres not far to bridge in between the front and back ;) so its probably fairly do-able

meh, money is the sticker in all plans tho :( cheap bits and engineering creativity can only go so far before something breaks/doesn't fit, or doesnt work out as planned

The mini... scaled down temporary home of a part time, project hq should be go by about wednesday :)

I'm also still looking for a work donkey-mobile/cruiser/coupe to do the 4 months while the cinq is off the road... im thoroughly p'd off in a search for a calibra now, I've had to hold off so long due to the lock up ituation, i've missed out on the ones i had lined up :( AND every one that is available has stupid bonnet and bumper extensions or is so horrid, if i could have a barge pole that would wrap around the earth twice, i still wouldnt touch them with it :(

Piece of advice for any calibra owners that find this post through google.

DONT MODIFY YOUR CAR WITH STUPID KITS YOU MORONS!!!!!!! they dont need it, ta :)

Also, if you have a standard one (and your not selling me it ;) ), keep a hold of it. believe me, theres away to be a price explosion on them within the next 6 months. trust me on this one, the price is as low as they will go now, and are on the slow increase in no more. even the scrappers are just starting to go decently over scrap value in sales. Due to the fact the redtops in particular have had their engines ripped out for corsa conversions, its making them so rare, the prices are away to sky rocket. Not bad for a cavalier in drag ;)

might sound daft right now, but in a few months time, i'll look like nostradamus(only right for a change ;) ) :D

If you're desperate for a car, there's a Tipo Sedicivalvole in Falkirk advertised on FF. No tax or MOT but depending on what needs doing might be good for a few months.

hmmm, interesting... i'm not desperate for a car, but seeing as none are available in my price range, its a good job!, really like the tipo sedicivalvoles, but the cinq is desperate for work seeing as i now have paranoia the HG is going too, so if i was to get another car, it would need tax and ticket left on it, ive nowhere i could take a third car off the road, and no money to do up 3 cars.... although i am very tempted by the tipo!!, hmmm

haha, i just scrapped my calibra not long ago, it only needed 3 things for the mot

Im away to do that annoying quoting myself thing ;)

my predicted prediction is looking rather accurate, im still cally hunting and been keeping track of prices, the price has hit rock bottom and is now on the rise. average prices are up by over £60 across the board on equivalent cars, Redtop callys are on average up by £80 on what they were, all this in a month!. the price rocketing is well under way!, bad news in the short term for me really! one of the 3 i was keeping an eye on is now already at/just crept over the higher limit of my price range on ebay (probably due to teh fact redtop was in teh title and the corsa twats are thinking, hmmm, discounted engine) with a day to go, looks like thats not happening, so its off to the non ebay models me thinks

anyhooo, more crap news, still no garage, nobodys being helpful anywhere, the brilliant thing is, the application got delayed for an unknown reason, and im now apparently on a waiting list... fantastic, the really funny bit? theres 5 free garages and not 1 person on the bloody list apart from me!!!! :nutter: so im both top and bottom of a que for something theres plenty of, and nobody else is wanting atm, why the hell have i not got the keys already? whats going on there?

i get the feeling they are looking for an excuse not to let me have one tbh, very annoying

You know our thoughts on Dundee City Council - just eems an absolute hassle from start to finish. Next time you speak, maybe worth trying to speak to a manager and make some firm, but polite, requests that you be dealt with?

Take it thats the cinq offiially being rested now?
