General Funny fuel gauge

Ok, funny situation the other night, fuel gauge started bouncing around all over the shop like a rabbit drinking red bull, full then empty then half full then empty and so on, only when I was in motion, hasn't done it since, and never done it before, anyone else had that before? Or is my fuel tank haunted ?
