Technical Fuel pump/sender unit fitting problem

Hi looking for some help. I have a cinquecento and I'm trying to get the fuel pump back in after I've replaced it. However it doesnt seem to fit, and it really doesnt look like it will fit back in
Any advice please

Hi it's the same unit that came out I just changed the pump
