Technical Fuel leak

Evening all
Just finished fitting new coil, electronic ignition, overhauled the carb, set plugs, did timing

Car started 1st time and I did the dynamic timing. All running sweet

But this evening went into the garage and string smell of fuel

Took a look and all round the top of the engine down from the carb was wet with petrol

I checked and fuel pipe is tight, carb it tight etc

After my earlier work I did check and no fuel leaks and had car running for a good 15 mins

Seems leak had occurred during standstill

Any thoughts

I can empathise... did you check all of the various carb screws/nuts? There are several layers, as I found out during my recent troubles

Yeah checked everything, all solid and tight. I took the carb off this morning and the bowl is full of fuel if that adds any info

I think maybe my new float was a bit off so readjusted it and let’s see, 1 more question for the choke housing - with the choke off shout the pin inside the carb be actuated - so up or in the down postion?
