I have a 1993 Cinq and the warning light comes on at intervals when driving along the motorway.... usually when going uphill on a slight gradient.

The foil tube that forms the hot-air intake into the air filter is broken and needs replacing which I intend to do ASAP. Thats the only thing I can see wrong under the bonnet. Would this be a cause for the warning light?

There's also a bit of a fuel smell coming into the car sometimes when starting from cold.

Any ideas or suggestions anyone has would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

hi i've had both problems on my cinc the warning light was fixed with a new map sensor bought for about 20quid from ebay and about 10 minutes to fit.
The fuel smell was the fuel tank leaking at the seams, again available new off ebay for approx 60 quid

The warm air feed isn't essential and is only really for colder climates
Yep.
I removed and blocked the hot air feed when I purchased my 899 Cinq because the changeover flap inside the airbox was broken and was flopping about with no control.

So I only have cold air feed.
No problems at all even during the VERY cold months we had a while ago.
Starts and runs fine from cold.
