Filled up with fuel the other day and since then the 1.2 stilo has been messing about.
It started off with occasional hesitation on the throttle which has gradually got worse and also the fuel gauge will suddenly drop and the low fuel light and alarm with go off and then it returns to normal.
Chucked a bit of redex in with the fuel but no real difference.
Whats the first think to check out, throttle body, fuel pump, fuel sensor!!!
Any ideas would be welcome.

I had the same with my 1.2 I changed the coils and seemed to fix it with these it about the power from the battery etc so check your coils and battery first as you may find a stronger battery or like me the coils will make all the difference

Cheers thanks, I know I had to replace one of the coils a couple of years ago as it suddenly wanted to run on 3, just wondered if this would also be causing the fuel gauge to drop and then return almost straight away as reading another post there is mention of the c20 earthing point which im led to believe is near the fuse box inside the car.

Wife has just reported that the mileometer is all over the place aswell, was below 95000 then jumped up to 95101 then 95103 whilst staionary and then up to 95108 and once acelerated away seems to of settled.

I think you've got an electrical gremlin creeping in mate.

Start by checking your battery health and check the charging voltage to make sure the alternator remains healthy.

After that check the battery terminal and connections are clean.

If that don't work start checking your earths too.

I'd be leaning towards battery though.

Checked all the earths and cleaned up contacts.
Checked battery, voltages etc all ok, even tried another battery.
Bit the bullet and fitted new coils.
Touch wood two days on all working ok, no dip on fuel gauge etc, no blip in the throttle either.
Thanks for advice.
