Re: Fuct FIAT '93 1.0 i.e. PASSED MOT

IT PASSED!!!

FAST IDLE TEST
Description . . Min . . .Max . . . Actual
RPM . . . . . . 2500 . . 3000 . . 2867 PASS
CO . . . . . . ----- . . 0.300 . . 0.047 PASS
HC . . . . . . ----- . . 200 . . . 30 PASS
Lambda . . . 0.970 . . 1.030 . . 1.029 PASS

SECOND FAST IDLE TEST - Not DONE [not necessary]

NATURAL IDLE TEST
Description . . Min . . .Max . . . Actual
RPM . . . . . . 450 . . 1500 . . 884 PASS
CO . . . . . . ----- . . 0.300 . . 0.032 PASS

So two CATs are better than ONE knackered one :slayer:
I can now go and retax it

That is a TOP effort! :slayer:

I'm really impressed with the quality of your welding ESPECIALLY if that was done with a MIG welder! (y)

Just to prove that the welding was not THAT good ;)
Look at this shot of the joint that has been leaking before i bodge welded it

UGLY BuT GaS tight

That’s a big drop on both Co and HC!!!

Lamba only just passed though
Yeah I know
But the exhaust is still leaking
I've ordered a new one of those 'brillo pad style' gaskets
that get sandwiched between the front and middle sections
of the exhaust at the spring connector
Should be at the Motorfacter tomoz

The earlier emissions test that it failed, but with a more airtight exhaust system, showed better lambda results

FAST IDLE TEST
Description . . Min . . .Max . . . Actual
Lambda . . . 0.970 . . 1.030 . . 1.011 PASS

SECOND FAST IDLE TEST
Description . . Min . . .Max . . . Actual
Lambda . . . 0.970 . . 1.030 . . 1.006 PASS

So once I cure the slight exhaust blows it will be so much better...

Re: Fuct FIAT '93 1.0 i.e. NEW MOT + RE-TaXeD

Missus got pulled over by the RoZZeRs in it last night
Was taxed and MOT'd Friday afternoon
So when the RoZZeRs where driving behind her in a bad area of town Saturday night
Their computer check of the number plate flagged it as un-taxed and no MoT as its ticket had run out at the end of October
So they flashed the blues at her and pulled her over (n)

She pointed out the fresh tax disc in the windscreen and they were happy enough to let her continue on her way ::ROFLMAO:
She didn't even get a HO/RT1 "Documents Producer" ;)

So I guess for the next few days I'll drive it around with the MOT+Insurance docs on me (y)
While the DVLA Computer system gets updated to reflect our road legal status

What a drama!
(thanks for the pics! (y) Our police cars have red and blue lights...)

Since insurance is compulsory there (it isn't here) does that mean you always have to keep your insurance details with you? I ask the question out of genuine interest... we can be fined on the spot for not being able to show a driver's license or vehicle license, I wonder if you can be fined for not having your insurance details?

NOPE
They have the HO/RT1 "Documents Producer" ;)

Which gives you 7 days to produce all your documents at a police station of your choice
All the insurance and MOT records Tax [road fund license] status of all vehicles are now computerized in the UK and the Cops have the technology to call up a check on you car at will from there RoZZer-MObiLe by quoting your rego number.

Sarah's problem on Saturday was simply because the fact the car was MOT'd and taxed late on a Friday meant that the post office where you get the Road Tax disc for the windscreen and the MOT station where the vehicle it checked for roadworthiness and construction and use compliance will not have fed the information back to the DVLA [Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency] or PNC [Police National Computer] central computerized records systems for possibly 3 working days
So I could get pulled anytime from now till probably Wednesday

Some RoZZer-MObiLes have ANPR [Automatic number plate recognition] systems that also log in to the central PNC records to flag your vehicle if it spotted on the road illegally
So the RoZZeRs don't even need to spot your car themselves
The technology can do it for them

Wiki Article on ANPR in UK

The UK has an extensive automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) CCTV network. Police and security services use it to track UK vehicle movements in real time. The resulting data are stored for 5 years in the National ANPR Data Centre to be analyzed for intelligence and to be used as evidence.[1]
