General frozen engine

went to start my car this mornin and realised the engine was froze solid so i thawed it out and put water in it and it was leaking really bad from the right side of the engine does anyone know wot it cud be? only brought the car two weeks ago could it be the water pump or cracked the head? cheers

Most likely to be a core plug pushed out if the block froze, why no anti-freeze?

i brought it off a machanic and assumed he would have put some in

Take it back to him then he should be easily able to fix it, & get him to put in a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water & anti-freeze when he's CERTAIN he fixed it...
