Technical Front windshield removal questions

Hello,

No, the A-pillars are staying in place, they are an essential part of the car structure.

You have to remove any covers / seals that sometimes are covering the spaces on the outside. Most probably also the scuttle tray (which might require taking the bonnet of). And the internal trim on the A-pillars and the top, by the roof.

Then you need to cut out the window with a special wire (in fact you are cutting through the glue compound), clean the excess glue, eventual rust, clean and prep the surfaces.

It's not an easy and one person job if you haven't done it before.

Positionning and glueing the new windscreen is even more complicated.

Looking at the question I'd say you should find a workshop that is capable of doing it.

For your 2010 FIAT Bravo Emotion, replacing the front windscreen usually does not require removing the A-pillars, but some workshops may remove them to make installation easier and ensure a perfect seal. Using a genuine FIAT windscreen is recommended.

Ha, then yes, removing all the plastic trims around the windshield is a good idea (the top one, too). The windshield it to be cut out with a sharp steel wire, it cuts everything, indluding plastics. So it's much easier when there are no visible parts around.
