front washer/wiper function

[new to hgt]

mk1 hgt

when i wash the front screen, the wipers do not automatically re-act. water gets sprayed then i have to activate wipers straight after.

other than this the wipers work absolutely perfect, just the automatic re-action doesnt. any ideas???
