Technical Front suspension

Gave the car a bit of a birthday yesterday and noticed that there is a gap between the top of the suspension leg and the top mount (body). Is this normal, or should I be getting it checked out?
Guidance will be much appreciated.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking at. Took car to local dealer this morning and was assured that as the seating is underneath, the gap is normal.

no problem,
the damper actually pivots in the slot.. "lock to lock",
