2007 Ducato 160 Multijet 3 litre - Swift Kontiki motorhome.
No sound coming from the radio (Pioneer MVH-380BT), regardless of source. All the lights are coming on, FM stations appear etc, but no sound. It appears that the circuit protection device in the Pioneer has kicked in. I checked the speaker wiring and found a dead short to earth on the front speaker, passenger side.

My question is how to find where the short is. How to remove the door panel? How to access the speaker wiring loom behind the dash, between the door and the radio.

Thanks

Don't rule out the speaker itself, coil can short out due to overdriving or rubbing on the magnet.

Thanks for the tip. I removed the speaker and tested the wire on its own. The white/black is still shorting to vehicle earth sadly, but hey, that's one more variable eliminated.

I waggled the wire in the door and where it passes into the vehicle but no change. It does not appear to be an intermittent short in that section, so I'm assuming it is somewhere between the door entry point and the central console.

If I could get access behind the dash, I would run a new cable and disconnect the offending one.
