General front fog lights

Hello,

What car have you got?

A FIAT 500? or 500L?

This thread is in the 500L section, the other two in the 500 section. That makes a huge difference.

I did a Panda169 and have posted a guide. I decided to wire via a relay and keep things separte from the cars ECU. I think messing with the wiring needs to be kept to a minimum. I think the wiring detail might help I tapped the exisitng side light wires to energise the relay and fitted an illuinated switch. You will probably find lights on eBay but the Polish suppliers I used (most parts seem to origiante there) have dwindled since we left the EU. I have not had any success butying such things from brealers but you may get lucky. The difficult thing is finding a suitable site for a switch as the dash is likely to put up a good fight. ON the Panda there was no space available so the switch had to go in the central console.

I'd stick with the original wiring if possible.

In my 2011 Ducato I needed:
foglights (breaker / internet)
foglight holders (brand new) + 2 screws per side
a short (20-30 cm) wiring loom per side (selfmade), the rest of the loom was in place
a standard FIAT relay
the console switch (breaker / internet)

I needed to cut a hole in the bumper (the x290 has already a plastic cover that can be taken out easily).

I've already checked what would be needed for the 500L, but realized that probably the OP has the 500 and posted in the wrong section. I've noticed that people quite often mistake the 500 Lounge with the bigger 500L...

@The Panda Nut PM me if you'll need anything ;)

As for what I was able to check during the weekend, there were 2 front bumpers available. The first one same as on the photo attached to my first post (the white car with the German reg), the other one looking differently (however this one was most probably available only on the Trekking version):

Can you please confirm which bumper do you have?
