Styling Front badge respray???

Hi all,

So today I decided to respray my front badge for my mk2. When I was removing the ole blue paint it the plastic started to crack, I sprayed the badge and the whole of the plastic decided to crack.

Has anyone got any advice of how to do it without it cracking for my next attempt please?

next time when you leave the thinnersin to remove the oldpaint dont leave it more than a minute remove old paint with a clean rag and dump it in water to stop any further breaking down
i use 2 pack paint to recolor these so they dont attack the plastic causing your splintering
even normal houshold paint might be preferable to say halfords acrylic rattle cans

get a few from scrappies to practice on rather than paying the crazy prices ebayers ask

What did you use to remove the old paint and what paint did you use to paint it.

Looks like the plastic has reacted to solvents in the paint and/or what you used to strip it

Thanks I'll try that next time.

Picked that badge up from scrapyard for £1 will go tomorrow to see if I ca get a few more.

Looks like the plastic has reacted to solvents in the paint and/or what you used to strip it

I uses nail polish remover to remove the old paint and used halfords paint to paint it.

Followed the guide which is on here exactly aswell
