Hi People,

Wondering if anyone can help.

I have a TV Turner card (http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=2687&category_id=247&manufacturer_id=0) in my PC that is not being used and I would like to buy a freeview aerial that I can plug into it. I have seen a few on ebay using a USB connection, such as the one below,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BNB-USB-Digit...726682156QQcategoryZ96970QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

What I want to know is can I used this with my TV turner card without the USB connection and everything will work?

I don't want to spend good money on something that will not work.

Thanks

David

I think your maybe confused a bit Davie, erm the TV with a good aerial should get you all the TV you need, the other bit you link to is an external USB Digi TV Tuner and your bit is an Internal Digi Tv Tuner.

Yeah it will work, the connection should be that same as any normal aerial connection on all the TV's however if you need an outside aerial for normal TV reception that little aerial will get you nothing.

Over £20 seems alot to pay for just a little aerial, can you not just try it out with household ones to see which is best then hit your local currys or argos:?

Have a looksie on here for tips and help should you need it

But surely that aerial on ebay would be designed to pick up digital signals, unlike the normal TV aerials? I don't mind paying that as I can use the USB connection with the laptop as well and at work.

thanks

David

The aerial doesn't pick up digital signals, the card and software decode signals picked up by the aerial and dispaly them accordingly and this would mean digital since the card is digital enabled, don't you have a normal aerial plugged into a freeview box at home? Same aerial you used before just different decoders i.e. old telly 1,2,3,4,5 plug in a digi box same aerial then 123456789 and so on.

We don't have a freeview box.

Downstairs we have a sky box which we use to watch all the TV channels on, a normal aerial & sky dish is plugged into the sky box.

I want to setup freeview upstairs on the PC, using a different connection, but using a connection I can tranfser between my PC (using my turner card), Laptop and work Pc.

Thanks Liam.

Ah right well you would need to see how a TV runs on a normal indoor aerial cos if it gets no picture or not a good one the reception will be poor on the card and USB tuner and total waste of time really.

I'll PM you some Q's.

isnt that ebay auction for a digital tv decoder with aerial? buy one of those and itll replace your tv card. 27 quid not a bad price for one of those.
