Forum speed issues...

Forum does definatly seem quicker for me. old forum used to hang on splash screen after you had posted msg..

just had a thought about the speed thing and would i be right in saying that it is quicker as the FF has switched from using ASP to PHP, PHP is knowing for being quicker (i think).

Theres probably a few people that will argue the ASP/PHP speed issue for days on end if you ask , I for one don't personally think there is any real measureable speed difference between them.

Right, used the forum from an inet cafe last night and i think its a lot lot faster. However, some people are having problems, so working on a test.

I'll try and get a page up by the end of the day which will record the time (and route) your net connection follows to here. If you can then post it in a thread (and state fast or slow) we can look into it.

But i'm happy, just seems my work is a bit crap

Right, having cleared out my cache, the works and home PCs are now flying on here, a lot faster than the old FF.

I suspect thats the problem for a few of the other people saying its slow as well.

Not trying to sound like I'm copping out as the server owner or anything but I have quite literally spent 30 or more hours the last 2 weeks looking for possible problems with the server and helping Ben with the vBulletin conversion and I just can't find anything wrong at all ... I really wish I could find something wrong actually, because then at least it could be also easily corrected.

Yep as some have done already a clear out of Cache and Cookies may speed things up for those of you who are having slowdowns.
