Help,

Ive got a JTD and aparently the wiring for the foglights are already there althought i havnt had fogs in there before
can someone tell me wherer they are bumper side cus the bodyshop couldnt seem to find them, i have the new switch panel waiting to be installed but just need to wire in the lights
also can someone tell me how to do this? as ive not done it before.

your help would be appriciated.
thanks
scott

Hi, Scott. I THINK the plugs for the lights are behind the headlights. I believe the wire from the lights feeds up and just plugs in.

Cheers pete ill have a look when i get home, looks mint tho, ill get some pics of my new bumper up shortly. Im dreading cleaning the bumper grill without bending the metal grill bit

Also ive notice a yellow plastic covered electrical cable hanging down behind the n/s behind the bumper now, i think it comes from the rad fan. anyone know what this is?

thanks

Ok my wire coming from the fog light itself it about 2 inches long with metal clip on the end, so is there a wire that feeds down from the headlights the i plug this metal clip into?

thanks

Ok, ive had a good look, there are no wires behind the bumper or the headlights for the Fog lights,
I have tried to put in the new switch panel (from pete taken from a HGT) but one of the two connectors is a different shape.
can anyone help me on this
its a SX_JTD 1.9 bravo Y reg

cmon someones gotta have some non standard fogs that can help

sorry to keep on just desperate to get them done

Can't you get a plug that fits your newer one, and rewire it?

Not much help i know, but at least you got a responce :(

Daz

So are their any fog wires already in place and im just missing them or are they not?

tar

I'd probably say that you havent got them, but i wouldn't worry too much. Just run a wire yourself.

Daz

Daz,
ok thanks, i will have to wire it myself then by the looks of it, so how is the wiring done?

The easiest part is wiring the fogs themselves, as you just need to run a positive wire from the fogs to the back of the switch. The earth can just go to the nearest bolt.

Here comes the tricky bit. You will need to get hold of the plug that fits the HGT switch strip and the wiring diagram for it. (I may be able to get you the wiring diagram later on).

You will need to cut off your plug and connect up the HGT plug. Your plug will probably have 2/3 wires coming out of it and the HGT one will probably have 3/4. Just follow the wiring diagram and it will be simple.

Cheers Daz, the wiring diagram would be appriciated, ill have to go hunting for a HGT switch panel plug.

Pete: If you read this. Is there a plug on the wires behind the switch panel you sold me that you could get for me please? or has anyone else got one spare?

thanks for your help

Scott, It'll have to be Monday, wife's got the wheels today! If I'd known the plugs were different, I'd have got the plug with it.

Cheers Pete appriciate your help, i suppose at least i know now what needs to be done,
So what sort of wire do i need for the pos and neg wires?
where do i run the wire to get it to the switch? i can imagine this being quite difficult
so i assume the lights are powered from the switch plugs wires?
sorry for so many questions im a complete amateur when it comes to auto electrics etc... but i really wanna have a go at this.

thanks

any luck with the plug pete?
Daz, did you manage to get hold of any wiring diagram for the fog wires?
thanks people
