Just recently got the recommended focus Induction kit for my but I am confused as to why there is a small hole at the back if the blue elbow. Do I need to seal this hole up ?

I don't have one so this is a bit of a stab in the dark, is it for the breather pipe? or is that already connected and its another hole?

Edit: If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it from and for how much?

you can get focus kits off ebay they are about £30 - make sure you get one for an MPI in your case

Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing. Upon revving the engine it doesn't seem to suck in air more actually push it out :S very odd i might just block it off any way but what with?

... if it was on my mind

But you were not the OP he might be forgiven for thinking you were rubbing salt in wound?

When Ive tried any variations on my autos it has always been bad news money wise.

Are you an idiot :confused::confused::confused:

The way your mind works at times and some of posts you put up absolutely baffle me

I dont know how you come up with that from what i have written - if i wanted to rub someone up the wrong way i would have told them so directly - its many years since i was last in a cento and prices of everything have clearly fluctuated as my price in original post was way out - how that comes across as rubbing someone up the wrong way christ knows

When you fit the induction kit make it so the engine breather pipe connection is closest to the TB. You will see pics on here of them also fitted at the filter end, not the best way to do it as any oil vapour left in the pipe when the engine is switched off will condense, drip down & eventually clog up the filter.
They're designed to work by sucking in cooler air (away from the engine) but it flows better if it's sucking relatively still air & not in the direct air-stream.
Like Blu my little hole is plugged with nut, bolt, & a couple of washers, plus a little bit of flexible gasket sealant just to be sure it's airtight.

I used a nut and bolt on mine with washers. make shure you use a Nyloc nut and only compress the rubber slightly.
I went back to standard filter because the focus type is too loud and had no noticeable effect on performance, and my engine is not standard.

I used some araldite to seal on a small piece of metal, that was the right size for the hole.

As you can see from my picture below, my breather pipe was an old pice of radiator pipe.

Price hasnt changed too much in the last 4 years, maybe gone up by about £5.
