Well, I won a 12" Fli Trap on eBay on the weekend, new, and only £70 delivered, not bad I think :)

Now I'm just curious wether it will fit :D Anyone have one fitted into a Sei or Cinq, or have the rough dimensions of it?

Wen't for 12" rather than 10" because I'm not really after techno/dance boom's but listen to a wide range of classical, rock, metal etc. I think that was the right choice??

Cheers for any input (y)

Well we'll find out for sure in a day or two, once UPS pay a visit :D

I don't have much ICE, I have a Pioneer MP3/CD-RW head unit i got in 2000 when my factory fited was stollen. The "face/facia" is a bit worn now, and I've repaired ti 3 times, but its still going strong.

I also have the Pioneer Ipod adapter for the HU, that lets me control the ipod through the HU, and plays anything it can, MP3, AAC, ALAC. I use a 4GB Nano for this. Really good upgrade, and only £38 new :D

The front's are standard speakers, but i will be upgrading to some other 10cm soon. Have to research this as i actually wan't to "upgradge the sound, noticably, and not replace them for any old thing...i also have to be carefull of the depth as i wan't the grills kept on.

The Sub is coming soon, but will be fitted ASAP.

Not much compared to some but the HU and ipod are fantastic, and the fronts sound ok for now, they done the last 4 years OK, just fancied a bit more umph lol

I quite like the look of the Pioneer TS-E1076. They look nice, and stats seem good. £65 in the shops, but just under £40 new on ebay, just need to check whether they fit :)

I was looking at ~£40 budget for now, they should be ok off the HU for now, and then i could get an amp at a later date when ££ allows, for another performance boost. TBH though, do such small speakers really benefit from an amp anywayy??

What do you think, or got any other suggestions?

Kristian

I have a Fli Trap 12 in my Doblo with a Pioneer headunit and 6 standard speakers and it sounds really good even with the standard speakers! Sub is very good on sound, never turned it up over half and it's down on -3 on my headunit! :D

Got some bad news!

I'm sorry to say that you have been taken for a ride like i did with this ebay seller, note the print:

"This is an Auction for a FLI 12 Trap Active Enclosure.

This is an Active enclosure and does not require a separate amplifier to get it working."

I bought a fli 10" from this guy thinking the same thing as you that it would be the complete product, instead it was just the enclosure & amp without the sub. The amp on mine has now packed up! & also note on the listing that he says all all his items unless stated are of graded status

I didn't pay as much as you, but was able to order my fli 10" frequency sub separately through halfords. Luckily i didn't lose out initially because the total for my sub & enclosure was more or less the same if i bought it from www.caraudiosecurity.com.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Yeah, I know they are graded status, that doesn't really worry me, unless its in a real mess, and then i have rights to complain.

ould exhibit some signs of cosmetic imperfections. These will generally be such things as light scratches and marks, these will NOT in any way affect the performance or working capabilities of the product.

In the specification it does list Driver – FLI Frequency 12 so i sure hope it isn't just an enclosure.

His feedback is so-so, 98% is quite high. You can read all his -ve and neutral feedback here

I hope I'm ok, but you've put the frightners on now lol

Fingers crossed all will be ok, I'll upadte wether I've been burned, once/if it arrives lol. Still I never expect it to be perfect when saving a lot of money, I make and take my chances.

Cheers though :)

Well, it arrived and is all correct and present :D Haven't had chance to test it yet as it doesn't come with a wiring kit, so off to maplins later to pick one up, then hopefully tonight or tommorrow it will be up and running!

One shocker though, I wasn't expecting it to be SO big lol, half of my boot has vanished, and to fit it in you have to drop the seats forward :D

It came in the origional box, fullly packaged, and the housing and speaker are mint. The screws for the amp have obviously been removed so i guess it is a warranty return that has been repaired. Not bad for the money all in all, as long as it works :D

you should have measured your boot before purchasing, especially as now it seems your seating has been compromised
