seee the nut thing on the bottom of the handbreak handle... undo that so the handle comes up further, put the car in 4th so it doesnt roll and also gives you more space to move the centre console a bit more

yeah the nut, don't worry about it, it's easy to put back

yeah thats the one mate, it will do up... you can do it up more the lower the handbreak is down... its your handreak adjuster so it will be fine mate

oh one thing though, anyone with a marea thing, the screws at the back are different to the ones in my old centre bit so the back is a bit loose!?!?

Nice one i was worried about that as well as had to yank the handbreak on the scrapper to get it off didnt want to do that to mine.
The only thing i'm waiting on now is some material to retrim the top and still cant decide what to do about the handbreak and gear lever covers, as mines are the nice mk2 leather ones. And the ones of the marea are a bit tatty with a few wee rips etc.

looks like ive got another thing to rob off a marea then!!!hehehe! what car am i best getting it off? the bravo i have only an sx so dont really want extra buttons etc if i can help it. what other colours do the arm rest com in? cheers.

The actual arm rest bit comes in many colours to match the cars interior, usually pretty minging in the mareas. But can be retrimed easily buy removing a few screws and staples.
