Technical Fitting the plate over the generator

Does anyone have a pic of this plate fitted on their car, please?

Hopefully that helps. The dimple on the shield locates in the hole in the metal band that holds the generator in place.

The closest I can find is this remanufactured part kit, including that curved metal shroud, for 125 Euro.

What is the purpose of that curved generator shroud, missing on my engine?
