4 years after removing these panels at the side of the rear seat, it is time to refit them.

I cannot remember how to fix them to the steel bodywork and there are no obvious holes for screwing them into place. Were these glued into position?

I am wondering about Velcro...

any help would be appreciated.

If you are talking about the side-trim panels Chris, you have to fit them before you fit the seat and you should have a 'reverse-lip (like what holds the door cards in place) for the top of the panel, and the bottom of the panel 'snugs' in outside the damper top. Some panels have 1 screw at the front of the panel that screws into a lug just inside the back of the 'B' pillar (about level with the door catch if I remember correctly). Mine doesn't use that screw, but still seems to hold in nicely.

Thanks Tom, I will recheck that detail today, I don’t recall seeing that detail last night but it was at the end of a long day; the car is getting close to being finished now! Very exciting, it looks pretty good.

Found the elusive screw location on the tab by the B pillar Tom, there is no reverse lip to locate the top of the panel though. What is Velcro in Italian? ): I will try a thin strip around the other edges.

Hi Chris---the Italian for velcro is---velcro! I had a look at my car (1972 500L) and the 'reverse lip'for holding the top of the rear side trim-panel is not as pronounced as the lip on the doors, but it is definitely there, and my side-trims are fitting under it to hold the top of the trim-panel in place.

There are a few tabs that may have been squashed flat that hold the bottom in as well
