Ive never fitted one of them aftermarket HUD's. However if I were looking to run a cable from the OBD port to just in front of the dash binnacle (as per your picture), I would drop it down between the windscreen and the dash. There's enough space there to get a fair size cable down without too much hassle, especially if you use some cable rods or similar. Ive done it a fair few times for various bits of kit.
Then the only bit of visible cable would be an inch or so between here it pops up and the HUD unit itself.

I use a dongle that connects to my iPhone; and have a couple of apps that have a HUD mode -- although have never used them: I just look directly at the screen, instead!![]()

Ah yes ive had that my self,
mainly for magic tree airfreshners, they dont bother anymore tho,
Mother n law has a collection of teddys and other tat glued to top of dashboard
on her nis- stan micra and shes never had anybother,& the thing is impossible to drive![]()
Which obd bluetooth connector do you have. There's loads on ebay but I duno weather theyre just tat.
