General Fitting a new battery

Depends what Punto you've got. I had a time of it getting a battery for my mk2 Sporting. Had to get a special size one but straightforward to swap

Dont get + mixed up with -

Depending on audio system you have you might need your radio code & set clock but thats it.

yeah if its a mk2 and you have a plastic battery bucket thing that the battery drops into make sure you check the physical size of the new battery before you leave shop as lot of the books they use to find a battery are wrong size to fit in that bucket.

One BIG tip, disconnect the negative terminal first, as the whole of the cars chassis/bodywork is connected to that negative terminal, if the positive terminal touches a piece of metal you will short circuit your battery! Upon reconnection, connect positive terminal, then negative terminal.

oh and stick some battery terminal grease or copper grease on the terminals of new battery stop them corroding
