Hellooo. I needed a new backbox and decided to go for a lovely SS Gravity one.
When I went to fit it:

a) the connection to the old mid-section is VERY tight - OK, can just about get round this with jiggling.
b) the hangers on the new backbox are 1" closer together than on the removed one - this means that the backbox is pulled over to the o/s to get any rubber hanger to at least attach to something, and the whole backbox is too far over to the o/s, not secure and would knock on the bottom of the boot when driving.

Anyone had experience of fitting these?
The seller (ebay) is asking lots of questions, which feels like stalling, and I can't believe no-one has experienced the same issue.

I have photos which I will post from my phone.

The Halfords universal hanger is a bit useless, and not tight enough on the pins, the original (triangle shaped one) won't attach on both hanger pins.

So frustrating - should be an easy job, but I spent about 3 hours removing old, fitting new, then having to remove new and fit old again!

I am going to be a bit controvertial and say, why not just bend the hanger on the back box a bit to match the old one. The option being you have spent 3 hrs trying to fit it. the hanger could be bent in about 20-30 seconds.

You spend a lot of time packing it up, posting it back, assuming they accept the return and don't just say you damaged it trying to fit it.
Or you bend the hanger, fit it and get on with your life.

Possibly not the reply you were expecting, but aside from the fitment issue it does look at least like it has been reasonably well made/put together.

Yep, it has been discussed! Just worried about breaking the weld and then rendering it worse. Annoyed with myself as trusted it would fit as it should/said it would.
This little car is teaching me a lot!

Could you use two of these and use only one of the two hanging points on the right looking at the rear of the car?
Fitting our standard very cheap exhaust was a right pain to seal and not knock think I eventually cable tied a piece of rubber to stop it
