Hi everyone,

I'm going to get a new double din dvd/gps for my Stilo, I've seen the surrounds on ebay, one is like this:

Which costs about £35 and the other is just the facia without the brackets etc
like this:

Which costs about £15.
Do I need the one with the brackets? I haven't bought the stereo yet but I assume it comes with the cage etc?

Can anyone who has done this advise?

When I did mine I had to choose between removing the cage inside the car or losing the cage that came with the stereo. They are the same size so you cant use both. Dont think the surround makes much difference YBH, just personal choice. Which stereo did you get?

I couldnt get the cage out of the car so had to improvise to secure the stereo in place.

I haven't bought it yet but I'm thinking of going for something like an Eonon G2213, I've read a few good reviews and not bad for about £260.

The pics below show the cage etc that comes with it:

i would say the cheaper one is fine as new units come with the cage.

the only thing is the new weight of the head unit. would the cage attached to the plastic surrond be enough to support it ??? my old car when i took it apart i had to chop and change brackets screws and allsorts.

The original cage will have to be removed and that may require a little force or even cutting. Its been ages since i fitted my double din but once the facia is snug, the cage will fit perfectly and looks great when its all installed.

i'm thinking of fitting a double din to mine? however my centre consol is silver? and i have'nt seen a silver facia so i'm worried it'll look naff? looks a good unit though (y)

I've read many reviews and there's hardly a bad word said about them, Eonon now have a UK distributor so it can be returned if faulty. Do you speak from experience?
