Hello to you we have a Fiat Ulysse and I like to make sure that the right stuff goes in and minor bugs are sorted asap. The car is around 4 years old.

I have a few questions and would like to see if people could lend a quick hand.

  • Brake Fluid - For the life of me I cannot see where to top this up or check to see if it needs topping up
  • Coolent or Water - Should the car be topped with Coolent only or will a mix be okay.
  • When attempting to raise drivers or passengers electric window it can sometimes take 3 goes as it battles with you. Goes up a bit the down again. The electrics have been checked at Fiat Garage and they have found no faults.
  • What is the little transparent thing on the dashboard that looks like it should be an ashtray but it clearly isn't wifey is currently using it to put spare change in.
Thanks for any answers to these questions

1 Brake fluid is set back inside engine bay to right hand side i think.

2 I would go with a mix 0f 50%

3 Ours does this on the passenger side, only soultion is to wind window down to lowest setting then raise window up, works for us.

4 Depends what spec you car is, we have a eleganza model and this controls other feature like satnav, if you have the dynamic model then this model does not have this control dial..

Hiya,
On point 3 about the window, does it only do it when you're going along or does it happen when stationary too? Ours does it only when the car is moving, and I've spoken to fiat aswell, who seem to think that it's something to do with the wind or air force on it as you're moving along, which makes the controls think there's an obstruction and so it re-opens the window. It's one of those child safety features that stop kids getting trapped if they accidentally hit the window control.

And on point 4, I use that thing for spare change too. I think it depends on what model you have as to whether there's another control there or not. But it does come in handy for car parks and what not!

Thanks for these answers.

Point 3 - Both stopped and moving, but reading these I can see it is fairly common place.

Point 4 - Change holder it is then, I can see it serving no other purpose, would be nice if I could turn it into a extension socket for tomtom

As for the brake fluid, is there no easy way to check the level or to put fluid in on the Ulysee. Everything else is fine the oil is fantastic no silly leaning over to spill most over the engine.

RE: Coolant is there a recommended (economic) fluid I should look for or will any do?

Hi,
I think you will find the ONLY way to get at the brake fluid is to remove the cabin filter housing, four over centre clips and two screws at the front, hard to see but can be done,, I also found that the bar across the suspension turrets is best removed as well, gives a small bit of room. Try some silicon spray on the window rubbers,
