Hey everyone! Our dear fiat Strada started cutting out after a few seconds of being turned on, this started happening from nowhere.
After like 20 tries it starts and stays running, what might be the problem?
Here's a video of the problem and it idling correctly attached . (it's from last year when I had tried fixing it but to no avail)
yes the battery was about to die and I was revving it on purpose, but even without those the problem still appears :)

I was going to say air in fuel , but the way it stops so instantly makes me think more electrical, ignition switch or immobiliser?
In the old days Fiats had issues with the ignition switches, but I am talking about the 1970s.:)
When it settles and runs OK, does it try to stumble or die if you gentle wriggle the ignition switch key?

Hello!
I think the problem is electrical too, the gas pump (pick-up from tank) appears to stop running, which is probably why the vehicle shuts off. (Maybe caused by some sensor?) I was thinking of bypassing the pump relay to see if the problem persists, but of course I don't have much time with work in the way :)
It appears to run fine when it idles, until it gets shut off, then it'll take you another many tries to get it back running (hence why it's been stopped) yes, I tried wriggling the ignition key but nothing changes!
Thank you! :)

I had an issue with a fuel pump relay on a 06 Grande Punto 1.3MJ, if I bridged the relay socket with a fused link for safety it ran , but I eventually traced that issue to a rotted wire that triggers the relay 10mm from the ECU.
May be wrong but I would have thought it would not die instantly from that fault as the fuel still in the high pressure pump would gradually run out over a few seconds.

I'll check when I can, got to understand if they'll sell it to me first, then I'll do all the checks, wanted to buy it back from a family member since it belonged to my grandfather, plus it comes in handy with the huge amount of space in the back :)
what Ampere fuse should I use while bridging the socket? 10A?

Probably 8amp will be enough it is just incase you accidentally short across anything.
Some people use a screwdriver type test tool that has a safety cut out that allows you to prove and put a positive or negative supply into a circuit safely.
