Hi,

I'm new on this forum and also I've recently bought a Stilo 1.9 JTD Multiwagon.

I don't know much on Fiats so I'd be very happy to know your opinions on some matters.

1. First of all the car came with no user manual so if there is any of you that is willing to send me a link or a copy on email it will be greatly appreciated.

2.The car came with 2 blue keys. One has buttons on it for unlocking dors etc. the other is simple. The fact is I don't know how to open trunk with the simple key providing that there is no button on it to press and also there is no button around the stearring wheel that opens it.

3. I've found the following :Keeping pressed the button on the key ( the one with buttons) that opens trunk it opens it. Also pressing that button rapidly two times, the yellow lamps flash 2 times and unlocks the trunk and pressing the contact on the handle opens it. Good. But how do I open only the window on that door? As far as I know it should open individualy . I've noticed a contact on it but pressing it does nothing. Is it broken or is just that I don't do the right thing?

4. Is it any way to stop the buzzer on the seat belt when you drive the car?

5. My previous cars when stopped, taking the keys out stopped the CD player as well. This one I have to turn of the CD manually. Is it a setting for it?

6. When pushing the handle that spits water on the windshield to clean it not all the times the wipers start wiping. I have to start them manually. Is it normal?

thank you

Check out eBay for the handbook several on there at the min. Search "Stilo handbook"

Thanks but no thanks. I don't believe paying fot it worth it. I mean, c'mon guys it's just a user manual, you read it only once. Not a service manual or something...It just teaches you a few things more about the particular car. It should be available for downloads on fiat sites. Most of products manufacturers ( consumer electronics aso ) give the instruction for free on the internet. It should also be their interest that the customers respect their advices regarding maintenence etc. Also it costs them nothing as long as it's not printed. So....

Ideas about the other issues???

@Hellcat
2. Really? Seems like the magic doesn't really work for me...Oh, I've seen other posts regarding turning on some settings in the menu, I'll try it out tomorow.
4. Thanks. Any other ideas?
5. I've tried the settings. There is nothing about the stereo in it.

1. If you don't want to pay for a manual then ask whoever you recently bought it off to get one for you, if not then you'll have to get one off ebay.

4. no there is no way to stop the buzzer when you dont have the seatbelt on, because you should have your seatbelt on :p

5. on the stereo hold the "menu" button in and some options will come up, scroll through until something like "auto" pops up and turn it on then the power will go on and off when starting/stopping the engine.

6. you have to hold the handle for a couple of seconds for the wipers to kick in, if you just squirt for a second then they wont come on.

Ok. Thanks for the infos everyone.
1. The manual problem is almost solved.
2. I've learned about the option in the car menu about Ind. Boot so I can now use the switch on the bar to open the trunk.
3. I still don't know how to open only the window part of the boot. It looks like pressing the switch for it doesn't do the trick. It may be broken.
4. Ok ok I believe I'll have to wear the belt even on short trips then...
5. Thanks dan-the-man, I've found the menu and switched auto on. It works.
6. Yes, I was releasing the handle too quick. Thanks again dan-the-man

Anything for a fellow Stilo owner :)

Do you mean that literally then Dan so if I send you my bank account No can you pay in a few grand for me ;) :D

Dan's done most of the legwork here, but I *think* the seatbelt buzzer may be deactivateable (nice word there) using the Examiner. I used to find it irritating whilst manouvering the car around at the back of my house.
