Fiat Service

I bought my Y reg Bravo 1.6 Hlx last Nov. It was serviced at 12,000 miles by the last owner. It was serviced when I bought it at 16,000 miles.
It has now done 26,000 miles.
It is booked in for a Fiat service early next month. I have changed the plugs for bosch super fours and put GTX magnatec oil in.
Will they change these back for regular plugs and oil? Is it worth me taking decent plugs and oil along for them to put in?

The car is running great and I don't want it to come back running like a bag of spanners. It is booked in for 2.30 and they say it will only take a couple of hours.
I don't mind it taking a little longer if they do a quality job.

Hello mate,
the plugs dont need changing, maybe cleaning but thats it.

If, however you want to change, take your own plugs with you.

Jay.

As far as I was aware, dont Fiat use Selina oil in their car servicing which is exactly what was in your engine as it left the factory??

Apparently its pretty good stuff??

Cant really tell you much about the plugs, but can I ask what kind of quote you got for the service, and what they said they would do for the money??

Re: Re: Fiat Service

Stupidly I didn't ask how much the service would be. Dur!?
I've got the reciept from when the last owner had his service done and it cost him £100.87.
That was including an oil filter and a gasket.

I have the Fiat aftercare booklet which says for a 24,000 mile service:
tyres, brakes, paintwork underbody, all pipes and lines, auxillary drive belts, hand brake,
tappets, exhaust emissions, replace fuel filter, replace air filter and replace spark plugs and check leads.
(They don't know I've changed the plugs reciently myself.)

There is a full page about Selenia oil. I'll see how the engine sounds and feels when I get it back.
Anyone no of anything I should ask them to check for in particular?

Re: Re: Re: Fiat Service

tell them to have a wee look at the cambelt to see if it's OK. It should be anyway, the car is almost new.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Fiat Service

As its the 24,000 service the scheduled work will include the spark plugs. Simply tell them not to change them and why and they wont!

£170 thats a bloody lot of money. I think I'll have to phone them.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fiat Service

my car is booked in for a service.

they have said it will only need a 'low mileage service'

does anyone know what this service will include?
i'll ask them anyway, but i'd like an idea beforehand.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fiat Service

My next one is 48000.

How much does that cost? And i take it you get pretty much what you would in a 24000 right?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fiat Service

I've been quoted £220 by the Fiat garage next to where I bougt the car.
£199 by another Fiat garage nearer to home.
I went to another garage and it is now a citroen Garage.
This is a lot of money especially when the guy told me it will only take a couple of hours!
