Took my 22 plate Ducato in for an MOT and was advised that there was a critical recall on it for the timing chain and water pump. They said that if we drove it away to await the parts it would be at our liability if the engine went BANG. Came as news to us as we had not received any notice of it and we assume that the conversion company who supplied it to us also did not know. Well it has now been nearly a month since it went in and still awaiting parts and special tools needed from Italy. No date for its return yet but I do find it surprising that Fiat when issuing recalls that need specific parts and tools do not have packs made up as they should know how may vans are involved.
Good job it is a campervan rather than a work tool.

Yes L Had it service by Fiat in March 24 no mention then of a recall and none found one on DVLA.. It is a140 manual professional 2200cc with an engine No of 9293765. Hope to get it back next week fingers crossed.

Have you managed to get you vehicle back yet and the belt changed? I am in the same scenario and waiting for it to be changed. It’s in pieces at the moment as wrong tools. Been ongoing for a month. If yours is resolved, who is the dealer that did it please?

Hi
Sorry for the delay been away.
I got the Van back after 7 weeks of being told that some of the parts had been delivered then after 5 weeks awaiting special tools from Snap-On and mid week of week 7 told at 10.30 no tools arrived so cancelled bookings only to be told that at 2.00 that the van was ready to be collected after some muttered remarks about Fiat Technical Dept told how to do it after my incredulous surprise remarks not least that a 5 hour job took less than 4 hours. Sherwoods of Washington are our local Fiat van service. Kept me informed and could not be better. Fiat useless. My brother in law had a Ford garage and said the first he knew of a recall was tools and parts arriving. Fiat must have been aware of the problem when the first belt broke so why not have everything needed on proirity order. My van is a Consort who had a delivery of 7-8 vans which must mean there a few others out there.

Thank you. I’m now with, the tools have arrived but they don’t fit. It’s over 4 weeks now. My dealer contacted Adam Morley in Portsmouth as they had told me verbally they could do it and had the tools. Adam Morley’s won’t even give my dealer the part number to get the tools, won’t give them any information and they are both Fiat Professional dealers. I’m over 4 hours away from Portsmouth. I’ve rung Fiat to ask what dealerships they have that they won’t help another one.
