Technical Fiat Punto mk2b heater fan problem

Hello, I had problem in my punto mk2b jtd with heater fan. It works on 1, 2, 3 speeds, but it not works on 4 speed.

Thats odd - normally it works on speed 4 - but nothing esle

Since the fan spins - thats confirmed on 1-2-3
It leaves me thinking either the switch is at fault - or a wiring fault

I had this problem on my fiat. Is it blowing the fuse on speed 4?

I had a partially seized fan that would work on the first 3 settings but would blow the fuse every time I switched to speed 4.

All I had to do was replace the fan and its been fine ever since.

The wiring had some discolouration (as ziggy mentioned) as it was getting hot.

If the fuse is blowing I would suggest the fan is partially seized.

Ziggy122, I also thinked about faulty switch, but it's imposible to remove it witout removing dashboard.
P dot co dot, fuses not blowing, on 4 speed fan stopping working as voltage to fan drop to 0v. Had tried fan from other punto but still problem is same. Wires aren't hot.

Ok, finally fixed. Was faulty speed switch, dashboard was not nesesery to remove, its holding by two screews in front.

Yes thats correct
remove the pannel - 2 screws and bloody akward connector to remove / refit
