Drink the snake oil, it'll do you more good than the car.

You can get cheap, crappy, universal lambdas for £30. They're a bastard to fit and (etc.) If you really want a real one, ring Big Mick (Fluffy the Impaler) at eurocarcare in Derby. Mention the forum, mention me, and you might get some extra discount.

If no EML, it's unlikely to be the lambda.

£15 is cheap for a code read.

drink the snail oil, whatz iz meantz by thiz? :)

hmm, might as well pay the £70 if it comes down to it,

Will also keep that on board regarding the eurocarcar.

and thanks.

A lamba can die - and not give a reading tho, or give poor readings and not illuminate the EML, so its worth while esp with FES recording the lamba sensor output once its warmed up to come out of closed loop :)

At no point do you say how many miles you are doing to a fiver or how many miles a week, the gauge is just to give you an idea they are rarely very accurate.

So how many miles can you do on a fiver you're not even putting a gallon in so I expect the numbers to not look great, also what is your local fuel price rural areas tend to cost a lot more than major cities.
Don't start blaming the car till you know that it's actually at fault

yup andy is spot on there

£5 / £1.37 (rough price) = 3. 67L

NOW using the data i have from fuelly

its about 20p per mile for a Punto when the bricks on the accelerator pedal
about 16p when you drive with abit of on off on off action (no viagra jokes here)

So £5 / 0.20 = 25miles for the 5er :)

However the 10 - 15miles probably doesn't include the majority of the fuel you put in going into the reserve tank, So that £5er your putting and the car saying empty is probably true - as the light on means you need more jumbo juice :)

Stop been stingy - Get it fill up properly for a few tanks - Track the milage and work it out how much your getting

Also the guage isabout curved - it doesn't move much when its full - however as it low the guage stops dropping like a stone in water

I drove from Nottingham to Derby early in the morning on Monday in rush hour traffic only on £5 petrol only because it's all I had but I was getting monies on the other end and made it, but mind you my mpg is great I was averaging on 44.5 low point it hit was 39.8 so I'm assuming it's all about luck but I agree with Ziggy don't be tight! Fill her up to the brim it's nice not worrying about low fuel I always do full tank when I get paid :)

Filled up £60 got 44.15L how much should that last me for?

Hi there, I had a problem with my car, basically, one bar on the gugage only lasted me 10 - 15 miles before it went right down. as stated in my previous thread - https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-ii/311158-fiat-punto-2002-1-2-16v-one-bar-gives-me-10-15-miles.html

I've put a whole 500ml of redex in today and 5L worth of v-power fuel and took the car on the dualcarriageway and left the car in 4th gear doing 60-80.

Went to morrisons and filled £60.00 and got 44.15L I was wondering the rough estimates on how long that should last me for on 1.2L 16v. Only going on 30/40mph roads.

thanks
