Hello All!,
this is my first post on this forum, so please sorry in advance for any newbie questions or post.
I bought Fiat Punto 1.2 16V 2002 year, from Italy. Car had 95 550 Km, and now it is almost at 99 000km. I bought it from known guy, and he claimed that car is in good shape and regular service is done. I just need to drive car and be happy
. But after 1000 km i had lots of problems, with spark plugs, brakes, leaking oil form motor ... i fixed all the problems and i spend almost 1200 € (additional) on fixes
. Conclusion was that, car was not on any service EVER, in 10-11 years. All filters, oils, lubs ... are in original "shape" / condition.
And now i have problems with "gearbox", i dont understand automatic transmision very well, but information's that i can provide: i have strange noises (cracking) from gearbox when car is going uphill or have some kind of heavy load. Oils is completely black ... ( not red
as i saw on the some posts that it should be?). When i had emergency braking situation ( from 80km/h to 0 km/h abs switched on) after starting again i heard loud noises of cracking from gearbox and car was driving slowly few hundred meters. Also, if i apply break little stronger, car is sometimes turned off, or i'm not able to drive normal few hundred meters with lots of cracking noises from gearbox (whole breaks system is new so it is not problem with it) .
So my questions
: should i change oil and filter in gerbox**? If oil is burnt, new oil will be contaminated after changing? Should i change oil, drive few kilometers and change oil again, just to clean system from old burnt oil? After changing oil after such long time, is it possible to have some negative side effects on changing gears clutch or something ... ?
Is this oil also part of torque converter? How many liters of oil will use for this event? Should i drive car until chaniging?
**I was at local fiat store here in Croatia and they told me that it is: Better to leave as it is, Dont change anything, drive like this. ?????
If i leave this situation is it possible to have fire in gear system? Someone told me that this gear system is provided from Mitsubishi to Fiat, is this true?
Sorry for lots of questions, but, Please if you have experience with this car and this kind of gearbox, please please respond, Thanks in advance :worship:
