Fiat panda 2006 fog light fitting?

I've got a 2006 Panda eleganza and its irking me that considering its top of the range, it came without front fog lights. I've decided I want them fitted but need some advice. Has anyone had these fitted by fiat and how much did it cost? Is there wiring already in place or not? Thanks

Fiat won't fit them as they're not technically fitable - to Fiat standard that is.

The wiring is not there and you won't be able to get the canbus to recognise them so you'll have to install a separate wiring loom and switch.

IMO completely pointless fitting them tbh considering how often front fog lamps can legitimately be used in the UK.

As above fiat wont fit them as factory style......

However almost any decent garage will put you them in or even better a decent auto electrician,,,,

You should be able to get a set of lamps and any plastic trims from ebay or shop4parts......

If you do it yourself TAKE CARE to ensure the fusing and wiring is correct and safe.. Bad wiring is a good way to set your car on fire

I've never found front foglamps to be of any real value in fog, so probably not worth the cost and hassle. Recently when I got a rock in one of mine, I replaced them with Ring BRL0402 Day Running lamps. Very few people have pulled out in front of me since.

If your headlamps reflect back at you in fog, drop them down using the level adjusters. Free foglamps!

Did you have to make up any adaptors to replace the existing fog lamps brackets?

Been looking at the osram dual DRL/Foglamps but silly money and hardly ever use fog lights anyway!

The Ring lamps are slightly smaller diameter than the original foglamps.
Once the original lamps are removed, the "grille" bumper insert that they fit into has a ledge below the lamp. This needed to be about 12mm higher I think. (Should have made step-by-step notes) I found a piece of plywood about the right thickness and cut a piece the right shape and fixed it using the original foglamp screw, plus another. The the Ring lamp bracket screwed to this new base. Only "damage" is an extra hole in the mounting and that is inside the bumper, so invisible. Can easily be put back to standard.

The original mounting has plastic lugs to mount the lamps at the sides. These do get in the way of the Ring mounting screws, making them a real pain to tighten, but otherwise a straightforward job.

Drag a lamp out and have a look. Ask again if all is not clear. The original is held in by the two hex screws you can see at the front, plus two screws under the bumper. Then the whole thing has to tilt out at the top, with a bit of levering to ease the bumper aperture. Some special language may be necessary for a few moments.

I usually find this step is necessary for most jobs that invole cars, it's very important to include this step and more often than not repeat multiple times!!!
