Are there any Sussex based owners who could recommend an Indie, ideally near Worthing to get a quote from to replace the timing belt and the water pump on a 2009 1.4 500

I’m sure loads of garages would be able to do it but I would feel more comfortable using a FIat indie.

Thanks

Afraid its a bit out of your way, but Small Car Services near Southampton generally get good reviews.
Thanks, have phoned them and yes it’s a bit out of the way but I have booked in with them as they’ll give me a courtesy car and the price quoted was massively cheaper than others I have had (y)

Reviews look excellent too. I was sold once told that they prefer to wait three hours after changing the water pump to let the sealant harden rather than just picking the car up when the job was done. Maybe other garages do the same but first I’d heard of it.

Just out of curiosity, do you mind sharing the price quoted? I’ve been looking into the same for our 1.2. here in Cornwall. Quotes ranged from £480 at a local garage to £800 at a local main dealer. I've since found a smaller garage a little further away who are willing to do it for £240

I have been quoted from £280 to £460, both from Fiat specialists. I might have got something cheaper from a jack of all trades garage but bad experiences of not dealing with marque specialists with my Alfas has stopped me going down that route.

£800 is bordering on theft isn’t it? o_O

Thanks for the heads up! Timing Belt and water pump and an oil and filter service done by them. Much cheaper than my local garages and comforting that they are Fiat specialists. Only advisory was a slightly rusty bench bar that can be treated.

Always a worry buying an old second hand car, so very pleased and seeing as a new clutch, master and slave cylinder fitted few thousand miles ago, I seem to have got a good ‘un. Previous owner was a mechanic and the car was run as his wife’s car, only sold as they are starting a family.

Chuffed and I am really growing to like this little car, bought as a runabout to save mileage and parking ding stress on my new Alfa Giulia.
