fiat grande tapping noise when accellerating

the other day I hit a raised man hole cover im on coilovers so sitting pretty low but ever since when I accelerate I get like a tapping/knocking noise I thought uit was exhaust as the pitch changes when in high revs but its not everythings secure, all the ball joints are fine. anyone got any ideas?

Hi Ryaan

Received any replies yet? My 1.4 16V Linea is doing the same thing. From about 1900 to 2600 rpm's it sounds like the exhaust is blowing, but then the sound goes away. The exhaust is NOT leaking, but the sound is exactly like a leaking exhaust. I also need to find out what is causing this.

The engine feels responsive. It sounds like it is coming from the left engine bay. Not from the front where the manifold is.

yes i did mine was the brace underneath the car it had bent up and the engine was tapping on it all I did was bend it down and job done
