Hi all, I am brand new to the forum
Hope someone can assist/help
Does anyone have a part number, costs and where I can purchase from for a Dayco timing belt kit with water pump. (I believe this is a reputable manufacturer)
The engine code is F1AGL411D.
I have just had a quote from the main Fiat dealer for supply only at £525, Dick Turpin did wear a mask😪😪
Hope someone can help as this price is absolute robbery in my opinion
Regards all

Sorry jackwoo but I couldn't get your link to work

A mate bought a Ducato timing belt in a Fiat box and the belt had Dayco printed on it, so I have no doubt they are OK

Personally I wouldn't change the water pump on a Ducato unless it was obviously amiss. Based on advice from Nick Fisher, who was responsible for a fleet of Ducatos on lease / hire at Euroserve Leicester. He said he only ever changed one water pump (and that was because the engine was already out) and their Ducatos ran for about 350,000 miles before moving them on. Its a much bigger job than most people imagine, working in such a confined space you may not be able to prepare the mating surfaces properly so it may leak. More seriously I have heard of corroded bolts snapping off, engine out to replace, knackering the engine block trying to drill out the broken stud. Leading to endless argument over who will pay for what. So I will be leaving my water pump well alone. Just changing the belt and tensioners.

If I was paying someone else to fit it I would let them supply the parts so they are responsible for them.

But you asked for the full Dayco kit so I would suggest ebay

...for a well-regarded source:

(Check the part number, though).

I've recently had mine done, and didn't bother with the water pump. Patently, there is some precautionary sense in having it done at the same time, but it is not part of the Fiat recommendation, and there are well documented opinions that it might be more trouble than it's worth.

I did have the auxiliary belts done at the same time, though (1 year early on the service schedule) since the servicing garage did them at parts cost only (being "already in there").

Yes dayco/Gates... supply and fitted water pump should be about £400 ish most good garages..i use carparts4less ..sister of eurocarparts order online pick up from euro..
Yes I would recommend carparts4less and eurocarparts but you have to watch 'em
Their price for Varta batteries was absurd compared to tanya
And I would never order anything thats not in stock
Waited weeks for a specialist tool from carparts4less during which time they were very difficult to contact.
Every time I phoned I was fobbed off to a different number where the wait was never ending
Eventually I gave up and asked for a full refund which they did immediately
I think they were as fed up of it as I was.
And yet - they still have lots of good stuff at low prices

Had my cambelt and waterpump replaced on X250, 35000 miles, about 500 miles ago by independent garage. Assume they used 'pattern' parts and I'm now really paying for it. Stuck in Spain as I think the waterpump has failed with possible engine damage. £££££ Few tales of plastic impellers failing. Fiat OEM seem quite good and reliable.
