Fiat Dealerships

Hi
i work for the Fiat dealership in Ashford weve only been Fiat for 7 months but with a long history of volvo we know how to care for customers and there cars, you wont find any monkeys in our workshop:)

After this stint, I shall see how they deal with me on Monday and as a customer I will judge the meeting from there. I will give them a try though, only fare.

If it turns out bad, I might just cut my loses keep the car for another year or so and go back to Citroen.

When buying a new car, the dealerships come with the package, after all your tied into the Services for at least three years else your warrenty is invalid.

Fiats are great cars and no one does better small cars than Fiat. However, the dealership so far are yet to be proven to be of quality standard.

When I was living in Newport, I had a great dealership there. Thats why I went back to Fiat, I used to own an old blowaway postage stamp engined Punto. That was great fun in the wind going over the Severn Bridge. The car was all over the place. I think the crash didn't do that car much good.

Can I just get something clear, you dropped a 20p in the passenger seat and took it to the dealers to remove it and they didn't charge you for it?

OK the dealers doing the damage is wrong and I wouldn't have left without the panels being replaced or at least ordered to be replaced. But if it was my garage I would have charged you the min labour rate.

Maybe they couldn't stop laughing when you took the car in to have the 20p removed?

By the sound of it you also treat cars like sh*t maybe they weren't bothered cause if the car looked like sh*t they may have treated it that way. Anyway if they have caused damage you have to either sort it with the dealer or go trading standards (consumer advice)

Never leave your car number plate on the forum. The data can be used to track you. I used to work in Insurance and you wouldn't believe how much data someone can get from your number plate. PY ? just from looking at that I know that your car is from Preston, Carlisle. Be careful spanner monkey and hide your number plate.

In your expert opinion as it seems that this is your profession

I have nothing to do with dealerships in my profession, this is my profession...

When you said you don't wash it, it sounded like you don't bother to look after it. Got mine on the 29th Nov and by the 2nd of Dec had already washed it two or three times. You don't need to use a pressure washer, leaving dirt on the car is a place for water/grit/salt to remain instead of it running off when waxed and not good for it plus the more dirt thats on the car the more will get rubbed into the paintwork when it is washed or when some snotty kid decides to run their fingers down the car or write 'wash me' in the dirt. Also as time goes by you will gradually loose protection and the paint/laquer will discolour making the car look bad. So a bit like saying I don't bother hovering my carpets or cleaning the house, it puts over an air of dirty/lazy. Not that I know cause I don't know you, but it's easy to form an opinion from those type of remarks. Also a strange thing to say being this is a car enthusiasts website.

I lovingly look after my MJ and would be furious if any marks/damage appeared as a result of work done by the dealership.

As already said what they did was wrong and you should ask for the panels to be replaced or painted scratch marks to be repaired.

I can't figure out though why you needed to take the car to the dealer to get 20p out where was it that caused that much annoyance? as I can't think of anywhere on the seat that you can't get access to yourself? The whole thing just seems very peculiar.....?

You're a photographer? :confused::D

Chris

LOL!

Can I just ask why you didn't just remove the 20p yourself? I don't know about the Panda because I haven't had to take the seats out but in my Brava it was four allen bolts.

Got to be honest I'd rather save mine and the dealers time and do stuff like this myself, I find most things can be done with a decent screwdriver and a set of allan keys.

If the garage has damaged your car though it's not acceptable, good luck getting it resolved!

OOOO clacketts. There is a technique for that, well there is clockwise. Stay behind the slow lorries watching out for kick back dead material, then wait for the "Mr I am so lates, or I drive like my pants are on fire" to hit the centre or third lane, then ease your way up the slow lane looking like a smug un. God I tell you, nothing miffs an Audi Owner than seeing a Panda hit 70mpg in the slow lane.

SouthBound, forget it. All bets are off. Take the scenic root, check out leeds castle. Walk round take in the swans. But afraid once that 5pm comes round and the Guildford lot come trundling out. mmmm.

I am unfortunately going anti-clockwise, I leave at 4:00 from Chertsey and trundle round to junction 7, but if a moth takes a dump at Clacketts then the ensuing traffic jam will soon stretch back past 8, 1/2 way to 9 :bang:

No different to when I drive around. It's vidable to thousands of people.

I'm sure anyone with any good computer skills can trace you through your IP address and stuff:confused:

It dosen't bother me. They can trace me and call in for a cuppa if they want. But I'm hardly ever at home, esspecially during term time(y)

You get MPG on the M25 ?:eek:

It's been a right pig this week, struggling to get an indicated 60 mpg this week (can someone PLEASE flatten Clackett Lane ?)

hehe I can get better than that with 1.2 dualogic, on trips out of town I get up to 66mpg

I looked at a dualogic, but for slightly less I got the manual with 11,200 miles rather than 38,200 (both vehicles are the same age)

Now the ruddy local Fiat dealer has an Eleganza that would have been in my budget (am I missing not having aircon and a sunroof ? me ? never ? yeah right !!)

Dualogic is definitely more economical unless of course you keep it in manual mode, & even better its lower road tax than manual from next year:devil:

Well, slept on it last night. Now in the humble opinion of cutting my loses and looking for another garage.

As for the tax milarky I just been looking at, £35 for a Fiat Panda Diesel. Not bad, but for a 1.3 engine (1.29999 recuring) was expecting lesser emissions. Also 60 mpg for an engine that size ain't too pretty either. My c2 was a 1.4 diesel and did around 68 mpg and that was on a bad day!

Tell you for a head decision you can't go wrong with the C2 for business travel. Body was a bit nasty though. When I handed it in, more bumps than Mr bump. The shed was the worse. After driving into the shed, didn't know what had got into the engine, so traded it prompt and whistled whilst I got £5000 back for a car I paid £7000 for back in 2005. The car had 55000 when I passed it on.

Paid over the odds for the Panda mined, could have got it for £6000 if I googled it but the part exchange was so good I couldn't resist.

News.

I thought about the situation with the dealership. Then I took it over to a mate of mine who does car sprays for fun. He looked at what had been done. His comment was "Why has the guy put a flat colour touch up pen to your metallic painted car?". That did it for me. Not going to Fiat Canterbury ever again. Bunch of muppets. Flat black Fiat paint on a Cross Over Black Panda. What the heck is cross-over black anyhow. Can't remember being taught that colour in school. Cross over from what exactly. My mate also said "touch up pen! hah! that ain't going to work, you need to sand the section down and do a respray, gone through all the layers and no way T-cut is going to help".

Thanks a bunch Fiat Canterbury. Your the Best. So cutting my loses. They loose out on my Services and parts. So should cost them a couple of hundred. Vote with your feet.

The End of the Canterbury Tale.
