Explaining exactly what to check and then how to resolve the faults is not that straightforward but basically the glovebox needs to all come out as does the left hand lower dash trims. You can then see most of the climate control motors, remove all the ones you can see and check to see if you can see any broken drive gears on the back of the motors. You can get repair kits from any fiat dealer. Replace any broken ones and re-set the system. As for the re-circ flap, this can be cable tied to the fresh air in position which saves removing the dash

Darn! My recirc flap was already open, definitely not operational. I'm hoping sorting the windscreen will solve the misting up issue.
