General Fiat Bravo's in South Africa

Hi SA buddies!

I am currently in the market for a Bravo. I would like the Tjet sport with climate control and the panoramic sunroof model. But first things first. I need to sell my Alfa Romeo 146 Ti that has an Alpine developments turbo conversion done to it in the early 2000 to 2003 not sure what the previous owner said on the exact date. I use to own an Uno Turbo as well. Been to Karl Stegmann in Cape Town many of times who did the mods to my ex Uno Turbo. Here are some specs of my Alfa I want to sell so I can buy the Bravo:

The turbo conversion was done when the car had about 5000 KM on the odo.
Pistons are standard.
Conrods are standard but shortened to drop the compression ratio to 8.0:1
2 x Extra fuel injectors for more fuel controlled via a Gotech mini X system.
The standard Bosch M1.5.5 management remains on the car.
Boost is set at 0.5 bar pressure although this setup can easy handle 0.8 bar. I left it at 0.5 for extra peace of mind.
Adjustable Koni shocks with a 30mm Eibach drop.
16" Yokohama A-drive tyres 205/45/16 +-75% Thread left. Tyres are still Very Good.
Madman EGT gauge installed.
Decent sized concealed intercooler.
TIM boost gauge installed
The standard plastic intake plenum was replaced with a twin spark CF1 Alluminium plenum.
Turbocharger was replaced with a Mitsubishi TD04H 16T
Power reading was +- 135KW on the wheels.

Fuel consumption on the open road at a steady 120 to 130 KM/H is in the region of 13.8 to 14.1 KM to the litre. It is rather very efficient.

The current mileage is just under 78000KM which is very low. The car was owned previously by people who have a love and passion for Alfa Romeo.

The cambelt service was done at 74000KM.
The oil used and that is currently in the car is Castrol Edge sport 10W60.

Maybe if someone in South Africa knows some one that might be interested please pass my number. 082 929 1171

That's weird specced car. it's got the skydome, 18" wheels and leather but no tinted windows nor rear parking sensor.
Ive been driving Fiat and Alfa Romeo for many years now.
Including the mighty Fiat Uno Turbo. I have seen both Fiat and Alfa do very weird things..... Hence my Bravo specs being weird as you say Tad-bravo.

I have a friend who bought a brand new Alfa Romeo 147 Twin Spark a few years ago. He ordered an LSD diff from an after market supplier in Europe and imported it to South Africa. Upon opening the gearbox we found a LSD allready in the Twin Spark gearbox..... So yes, the Italian manufacture did do some "weird" stuff in the past so anything is possible....:)

Hi guys
Another Bravo tjet sport owner here. Great car! I'm from PE. Something seems wrong with my electrical system on the steering/dash. Can you go look at my post in the bravo/technical section? Please? Its quite an annoying problem.

Hi.

I know this might have been brought up on many occasions but please bear with me.

I am from South Africa and have taken delivery of a 2008 Bravo Tjet Sport.
It has all the bells and whistles from leather seats, climate control, panoramic sunroof to Blue and me. everything works perfect except the Blue and me system.

Before I start explaining my problem, yes I have done a search on the net and the forum and found nothing that seems to work or solve my problem..... unless I am having a huge blonde moment here.....

Anyway, When I turn the key to the MAR position I notice the Blue and Me logo appear on the dashboard ECU screen. But when I press the telephone button on the steering wheel nothing happens. I cannot access the Blue and Me menu at all. Absolutely nothing happens. I have a Blackberry Bold 9790 and tried to do a bluetooth search from the phone. It did manage to pick the blue and me system up but obviously I could not connect due to the fact that I cannot retrieve the PIN from the car because the function does not work. I have disconnected the battery a number of times ranging from 10 minutes right up to 30 minutes, an hour and even a whole day and still no luck. Also, when pressing the windows button on the steering wheel nothing happens. After disconneting the battery, now my phone does not even pick the blue and me system up anymore. No voice what so all. What could the problem be? Is there any remedy or solotuion to this?

I can add that I do have Multiscanecu and using a KKL cable but I can only access the engine ECU which in return gives no errors. I did notice there is a dashboard section I can connect to but it will not connect due to the fact that it requests for an ELM 327 cable. Will I be able to locate the problem perhaps if I buy an ELM 327 cable? Will I be able to fix the problem or is there any other problem I might be facing here?

Any help will be appreciated.

mine also does this from time to time.

its a little frustrating at times.

but i dont use the bluetooth function or usb for music anymore.

Where in SA are u? I am only 5 foot 11 inches and its pretty tight but have been comfortable even on long trips. If ur taller could be an issue. I agree with Crispy cause i prefer petrol to diesel, although the 1.9 150hp pulls hard got plenty torque and economical.

Hi all,

Im Adriaan from Pretoria up north and took proudly ownership of a lovely Bravo Sport 2010 Tjet 2 months ago ( July2013 ). She had 59900 km on the clock and after 2 incredible fun months she now has 68900km.:D

She is Munuet Azure Grey i think and has the blue sport interior. I think she is standard and still has a motor and service plan activated. I must say its one of the greatest cars i have driven

If i get to my 5 posts i will post some picutres...:bang::bang:

hope to chat with you all soon..

Shot:cool:

Im in Durban, ja im like 6 foot 4 hahahaha so thinking i might not fit now haha. Looking at the diesel at a fuel saving view. Going to view and test drive it tomorrow.

Hi guys I'm from jozi and have a 2008 Maranello 150 sport, where can I go to get my ecu flashed and what can you suggest along with that?

I've got my car sitting on 6.7 from 0-100... if we could do it in second that would really help haha. I did multiple runs with my laptop plugged in and hooked up to the obd2 port.

I also rarely see Bravo's in CPT but I really like that of course, I see on my side a red one every now and again and its the same guy since its the only Bravo in my area pretty much :p

Where the hell is the obd2 port? First car I can't find it on...

Good Day Danielhose,

the OBD2 port is on the right side of your steering wheel under the cover that has a small place to put stuff in. Regarding the software on my 150 Sport is still in test phase with a custom map. But i know of a guy that used Wulfchip and has been happy with the results. Personal recommendation will be to get an intake system and a Downpipe.

Thanks tsmit, will be in contact with wulfchip and will shop around for intake and downpipe... :D

No problem, I got a 63mm Downpipe from Powerflow and been smiling all the way love the sound and performance i got from it.
