My car worked ok, but today I can't start the engine. It is starting, but it don't turn on. My spark plugs are ok, i got the fuel, I don't know what is the problem.

Have anyone got same problem? what can be wrong?
sensors, cables, or something else???

Any warning lights show up when you turn the ignition on and wait a little while? Does the glow plug light turn on and then go off? Can you hear the fuel pump priming?

Heres a check list for you.

When was the diesel filter changed and how did you check that there is fuel coming in ?
Whats the voltage on the battery ?
By spark plugs, I suppose you mean glow plugs ?
And like Joske said, do all the lights go off on the dash ?
Do the dash lights flicker when you are turning the engine ?

all lights go off, sometimes i can hear the pump, sometimes not, but it never turn on.

i tried to start car on cables with another car, didn't work. I also sprayed "start spray" into air intake, it almost turn on, but it wasn't sucessful.

Diesel filter was changed 15.000 km ago, I don't know how to check for fuel. Battery was bought half year ago, so it is not a problem.

my mehanic don't have time these days, so he can't tell me what is wrong. I'm affraid if is bosch pump - i heard it is exspensive?

Change the diesel filter, then try. Sounds like blockage due to cold weather and what the pump goes, its not common that it goes. Also, press the switch (cutoff) left of the clutch pedal a few times. But it sounds you have frozen diesel filter - should be changed every 10 000 km.

BTW Matej - greetings to Slovenia, check www.fiat-klub.si if you need a new/faster mechanic.

today I drag my car with another car and try to turn on the engine in second gear during driving - it started. then it was working and I drived for about 15 minutes and it suddenly turned off.

then we again try to turn it on like first time with dragging with rope, and while we were driving about 30 km/h in second gear, it was like it is working, but when i pressed the chlutch it turned off.

any advice?

I thought i'd add my experience of a similar problem which got fixed (fingers crossed) today.

My JTD wouldn't start for the past 10 days. I changed the battery after repaeted attempts at start killed the old one. I changed the fuel filter as I normally would but the problem remained.
AA guy arrived today to have a look before a possible tow to the garage. Long story short, the EGR valve was stuck open and there wasn't enough oxygen in the chamber to start the car. After a tap with a hammer and a spray of Wins EGR valve cleaner the car was smoking again...a lot!
