Hi

Having bought an older fiat bravo without the manual, I have had a little trouble trying to work out how to set the radio.
I've search the site without much luck. only numerous comments to "read the instruction manual".
anyway, for anyone in the same predicament as me, but still stuck, [and as a future reference for me!] I've put together this "dummys guide".
some things are really obvious, some are not [until you know how!].

the integrated radio for this particular model has :
- a 4-band radio, each with 5 preset channels.
- tape cassette player.
- clock display.

1. In "off" mode, the clock is shown in the display.
When the radio is on, either the time or radio station is displayed, toggled with the "clock" button.

2. to set clock
press & hold the "clock" button for a few seconds until the time stops flashing.
then use the h+, h- to alter the hour, and the m+, m- to alter the minutes.
when correct, press the "clock" button to fix the setting.

3. radio on/off + volume.
to turn the radio on or off, press down the large button on the left of the unit.
for volume simply turn the same large button.

4. bass/balance.
by the large on/off button, there is a small one for bass & balance, activated by pressing first, then turning.

5. bands avail
the radio has four bands, selected by pressing the "band" button. These are :
- FM band 1 - displayed as "U-"
- FM band 2 - displayed as "U="
- AM(MW) band - displayed as "M"
- LW band - displayed as "L"

6. using preset channels
each band has upto five preset stations, selected by pressing the buttons 1-5.
the band and preset channel number will be displayed.

7. tuning.
the radio can be tuned in to stations on a band by pressing the up/down arrowed buttons by the "band" button.
the radio will scan first for the strongest signals, stopping at each to allow selection.
to continue, press the same button again. [or press the other to back-track].
the scan will keep rolling over all the frequencies, perhaps 2 or 3 times, each time doing a deeper search.
probably by the 3rd scan, say on FM, you will be picking up a lot more local stations.

8. setting a preset channel
with the desired station playing, press & hold the particular preset button you wish to set until you hear the station return.

9. cassette
the cassette cover is opened & closed by pressing the cover on the top.
the tape player has its own play, rewind & eject button set.
